<article><hdr>Airborne shot of A-26 Invader</hdr><body>
<hi style=afpcap>The A-26 Invader performed combat operations in the European and Pacific theatres during World War Two, and remained in front-line service after the war serving Tactical Air Command and later the Air National Guard. The A-26 was also committed to the war in Korea with operations conducted from Japan until the Communist forces were forced to retreat. The designation was changed to B-26 to more accurately reflect its role. A small number of Invaders were still in service when the US began to supply advisers and equipment to bolster the Republic of Vietnam forces in 1962. The A-26/B-26 series also achieved a healthy second hand market with emerging nations.</hi>
